1. The function of phosphor in plants is very important. It helps a plant convert other nutrients into usable building blocks with which to grow. Phosphor is one of the main three nutrients most commonly found in fertilizers and is the “P” in the NPK balance that is listed on fertilizers.
2. Phosphor is a vital component of ATP, the “energy unit” of plants. ATP forms during photosynthesis, has phosphor in its structure, and processes from the beginning of seedling growth through to the formation of grain and maturity. Thus, phosphor is essential for the general health and vigor of all plants.

2. It is always good practice to use a PK based product during flowering, as an increase in the potassium to nitrogen ratio encourages plants to divert more energy into their flowers and fruits.

When potassium moves into the cells around the stomata, the cells collect water and swell, allowing the pores to open and CO2 to enter. When water supplies are less than optimal, the potassium in the cells around the stomata recedes, closing the pores to prevent water loss and minimizing drought stress. When plants begin to flower, potassium is a catalyst in the manufacture and delivery of the starches and sugars needed for the blossoms to fully form.
